With the latest PPAs/LOAs (power purchase agreements and letters of award) acquired in the past several months, Juniper Green Energy announced in a statement that its renewable energy capacity has surpassed 1.2 GW.

The firm, a private manufacturer of renewable energy and operator of wind, sunlight, and hybrid power projects, has received contracts from GUVNL and MSEDCL for 190 MW of wind capacity and 105 MW of solar capacity, respectively, at an average rate of Rs 3.00 (about USD 0.037) per kWh.

The Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) and Maharashtra State Power Distribution Ltd. (MSEDCL) launched an e-Reverse auction after competitive bidding to award these projects.

The projects will be commission after 18 to 24 months in accordance with the bid terms, and a PPA for a period of 25 years must be agreed between the parties. Additionally, the business has begun work on its first 140MW ISTS solar power plant via the merchant/C&I method.

These projects taken together will provide 1.4 billion kWh of clean energy annually, resulting in a decrease of about 1.3 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions. Additionally, these initiatives have the capacity to supply 2.8 Lac homes with green energy.
