In the case involving the accusations that Poonam Pandey, the wife of former director general of police DK Pandey, purchased government property in order to build a house, Ranchi deputy commissioner filed an appeal with the High Court. He claimed to have received orders in this respect from the government level, following which a division bench appeal was filed on his behalf.


Ranchi: In a case involving charges that Poonam Pandey had purchased government property in order to build a house, Ranchi's deputy commissioner filed an appeal with the High Court.




He said that after receiving orders in this respect from the administration, an appeal was filed on his behalf before the division bench against the High Court's ruling on Tuesday.


This was approved for LRDC. The High Court's single bench has overturned the Deputy Commissioner's decision to revoke Poonam Pandey's land's land mutation.


What have Poonam Pandey's accusers said?

Let us inform you that 50 decimals of land in Ranchi's Kanke Zone were purchased in the name of Poonam Pandey, the wife of former DGP DK Pandey.


While serving as DGP in the 2018–19 academic year, DK Pandey completed the land registry and mutation. The land that DK Pandey allegedly changed using his position is believed to be Garmajrua (government land).


The Jamabandi of Chama Mauza's property was the subject of an investigation ordered by DCLR and Kanke CO in June 2019 by the then-DC of Ranchi Rai Mahimapat Ray.


Order of the Deputy Commissioner is contested in HC

Poonam Pandey received a notification inquiring as to why the deposits made in her name should not be annulled. Following this, Poonam Pandey appealed the Deputy Commissioner's decision to the High Court.


Poonam Pandey received relief from the High Court's single bench. The Deputy Commissioner's order had been overturned by the court.
