On Saturday, Jharkhand's Special Judge Dinesh Rai's court held a hearing on the regular bail request of suspended IAS official Chhavi Ranjan in relation to the unauthorised acquisition and sale of 4.55 acres of property, including 4.55 acres of land at Bariatu Road that was occupied by the military.
The court reserved judgement after hearing both sides. On August 8, the court will now issue a ruling on bail.
Chhavi Ranjan is a good person
Chhavi Ranjan is innocent in this matter, according to the applicant's attorney, who said this earlier in the court. There is no money laundering case against them.
Attorney for the ED Ramit Satyendra argued against it. Chhavi Ranjan is allegedly the primary planner of the fraudulent land acquisition and selling case. The court reserved the order after both arguments were finished.
On June 30, bail was requested
On behalf of the ED, a reply was submitted during the previous hearing. Please let people know that IAS Chhavi Ranjan requested bail in a petition on June 30. He was imprisoned on May 5.
Regarding his arrest, Chhavi Ranjan has submitted a plea to the High Court. In which it is claimed that his arrest did not adhere to the law.
The hearing for this is currently ongoing. In the army land fraud case, the ED has so far detained and jailed 10 suspects. ED has also submitted a charge sheet after concluding its probe into this issue.
