In the case with the most defendants in the Jharkhand fodder scam, the court will render its decision on August 28. A hearing will be convened to determine the sentence for 29 veterinarians of the 124 accused. This choice will be made in the case of a fraudulent 36.59 crore withdrawal from the Doranda Treasury. After the arguments from all sides were concluded, the verdict was reserved by Special CBI Judge Vishal Srivastava.




Ranchi: On August 28, the court will announce its decision in the Jharkhand fodder fraud case with the most defendants. In addition to the 124 accused, 16 women are also listed in the material. In this case, 86 suppliers and eight treasury officials are also charged.


Dr. Gauri Shankar Prasad, who was the district animal husbandry officer at the time and is approaching 90, is the oldest defendant in this case.


All of the accused are required by court order to appear in person in court on the day of judgement, which is Monday.


During the hearing, Special Public Prosecutor Ravi Shankar of the CBI had called 617 witnesses. On the basis of false allotment letters, illegal withdrawals from the Doranda Treasury were made in the years 1990–1991 and 1994–1995.


53 cases in all, including five involving the RJD leader Lalu Prasad and the fodder scam, have been resolved before the CBI court. In 52 cases, the court has already rendered a decision.
