news in Jharkhand The NTPC land purchase scandal involving three thousand crores in Hazaribagh may be investigated by the ED. A hearing on this was conducted in front of the High Court's bench, which was made up of Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Ananda Sen. During this time, the ED informed the court that an investigation had been launched by registering a PE. According to ED, this situation qualifies as money laundering.




Jharkhand News: A hearing was held in the High Court's bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Ananda Sen over the land-compensation fraud involving NTPC and other projects in Hazaribagh. The ED informed the court at the hearing that it has opened an investigation by registering a PE.


According to the ED, the case may be classified as a money laundering incident based on the information acquired thus far, and an inquiry can be opened. The CBI and the state administration were then instructed by the court to respond within two weeks.


Mantu Soni has submitted a petition to the High Court in this respect. According to the suit, government personnel, NTPC officials, and land mafia have seized control over publicly accessible panchayat buildings, grounds, river ponds, crematoriums, graveyards, and more by fabricating bogus paperwork. A settlement was obtained.


The Revenue Department had sent a letter to the Hazaribagh DC and the MD of NTPC after the State Government established the SIT, but no action has been done as of now. It was advised to have the CBI look into the land compensation scandal after the SIT estimated its value at three thousand crores.
