Amazon.com debuted its Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centres in Israel on Tuesday and announced plans to invest nearly $7.2 billion there until 2037.

The country's government will be able to operate programmes and store data in data centres that are located in Israel thanks to Amazon's cloud services in the area.

The creation of the Region will make it possible for us to move substantial government workloads to the cloud, and we are certain that it will speed up the public sector's digital transformation, according to Yali Rothenberg, Israel's accountant general.

Companies including Netflix, General Electric, and Sony use the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing infrastructure to enable storage, networking, and remote security.

The business added that with the expansion, AWS would be accessible in 32 different locations and that its investment in Israel will boost Israel's GDP by around $13.9 billion.
