First Moon Images from Chandrayaan 3: On August 5, 2023, Chandrayaan-3 entered the orbit of the Moon. The manoeuvre to send Chandrayaan-3 closer to the Moon was successfully carried out a day after it was put into the Moon's orbit, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said on Sunday.
It is now travelling 164 x 18074 kilometres (KM) around the Moon at a speed of 1900 kilometres per second. According to ISRO, the following drill will take place on August 9.
From Chandrayaan-3, several images of the moon have also been captured. In every image, an instrument with a golden hue may be seen on the left. This is Chandrayaan-3's solar panel. In front of the picture may be seen the moon's surface and its crater. Every image shows an increase in it.
According to ISRO, the following manoeuvre to move Chandrayaan-3 nearer to the moon will take place on August 9, 2023, between 1:00 and 2:00 PM Indian time. By August 17, three more campaign operations will be finished, and then the landing module will detach from the 'propulsion module'.
Deorbiting will take place on August 18 and 20 after this. In other words, the moon's orbital distance
The lander module will then enter an orbit that is 100 x 35 KM in size. At that point, Chandrayaan will land on the 23rd at 5:47 p.m.
It is known that Chandrayaan entered the moon's orbit at about 7.15 p.m. on Saturday after travelling for 22 days. On Sunday, August 6, at about 11 p.m., ISRO decreased Chandrayaan-3's orbit. In other words, it is currently 170 x 4313 kilometres from the Moon.
The first photos of the Moon taken by Chandrayaan-3, India's third lunar mission, were made public by the space agency on Sunday. According to ISRO, the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft has successfully travelled over two-thirds of the distance reached by the Moon since launch, according to a message from the mission's official Twitter account.
