New Apple Watch X with magnetic band attachments to debut in 2024 or 2025: Report

The Watch X will be Apple's thinnest smartwatch ever produced.

Apple Watch X, the company's tenth wearable generation, is reportedly under development. The Apple Watch X is expected to be released in 2024 or 2025 to mark the 10th anniversary of the company's wristwatch line, according to a Bloomberg story. According to reports, this next model will have significant advancements over current models, including a brand-new magnetic attachment-based strap mechanism.

The Watch X will reportedly be Apple's thinnest smartwatch ever made, according to the rumour. Additionally, a novel magnetic band-swapping mechanism is planned for it, which will do away with the need for a strap attachment point and enable the business to further slim down the watch's dimensions.

This enhancement will, however, be costly because the new mechanism will not work with the current bands. In addition, rumours claim that the Apple Watch X will have a blood pressure sensor built right into the watch and a microLED display that is both thinner and more advanced than current models.

Since its launch in 2015, Apple has released its smartwatches on a yearly basis, with the occasional introduction of more affordable versions like the Watch SE and the second-generation Watch SE (review). In a similar vein, Apple introduced the Watch Ultra (review), a titanium-framed wristwatch, in 2022.

There is a lot of excitement building up for Apple's upcoming September release of the iPhone 15 series and Apple Watch Series 9 running watchOS 10. According to reports, this forthcoming model will resemble the Series 8 but have a new processor that will provide additional features and increase efficiency to extend battery life.
