Vehicles carrying passengers travel over Amethi's crumbling culvert, but officials remain silent out of fear of a serious accident

People in the Amethi area of UP risk their lives to get to and from the culvert. This bridge right here is in a terrible state of decay. The deep Malti river, which joins the Sai river, flows underneath it at the same time. The outdated culvert will not be fixed even after that.

In the UP district of Amethi, people are taking a risk with their lives to cross a crumbling culvert. Every day, thousands of people travel under this culvert, which is likewise in poor shape. However, this bridge is still not being restored even after that. The locals have been protesting about the condition of this culvert for many years, but even then, the department hasn't paid attention to their complaints.

The Sultanpur Amethi state road near Bandoiya village in the Bhetua development block of the Amethi tehsil is the location of the culvert that is the subject of this lawsuit. This culvert, which was built hundreds of years ago and has been falling apart for the past four years, is located below the Malti River, which connects with the Sai River.

Even after that, the structure's damage is not being fixed. Every day, thousands of people risk their lives to cross this culvert, yet despite this, departmental employees fail to fix the bridge, which invites accidents.

A major incident may occur

This culvert has reportedly been in poor condition for a number of years, according to 80-year-old Ram Manorath Mishra. After measuring it, the agency gave a guarantee that the culvert would be fixed quickly. Every day, both small and large cars pass over the culvert. This bridge is passed by by several ministers, officers, and leaders, yet it has not yet been fixed.

We expect the administration to take note of this. If there isn't one, then plan ahead for one and get this culvert fixed. Preeti Tiwari, a sub-divisional officer, declined to talk to the media about the entire situation, claiming that I have not yet been made aware of it. As soon as the issue is discovered, an investigation will be conducted and action will be taken.
