10 schools in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi's (MCD) Civil Lines region and 7 schools in the Shahdara neighbourhood will both be closed on Thursday, July 13 due to the flood-like conditions in the nation's capital. In addition to this, it has been agreed to maintain school closures in various UP regions.

On Wednesday, the civic organisation released this information. Let us notify you that on Wednesday, the Yamuna River in Delhi reached a level of 207.83 metres, breaking the previous record of 207.49 metres set in 1978.


In a statement, the MCD explained why schools had to close: "Due to the flood-like scenario in Delhi, the education department of Dmc has closed 10 schools in low-lying areas of the Civil Lines area, a total of six schools in Shahdara (South) zone and Shahdara (North) zone." A decision has been made to keep a school in the area closed on Monday. These schools' students will be able to take classes online. In the Delhi MCD affiliated and aided schools, July 11 was officially proclaimed a holiday.
