NHAI's multiple campaigns to update National Highways

The minister for roads, transport and highways stated that the overall length of India's national highway system has risen to about 1.45 lakh km, or 91,000 kilometres, at this time. According to the minister, NHAI is using a variety of strategies to monetize its national highway assets, including project-based finance, ToT (toll-operate-transfer), and InVIT (Infrastructure Investment Trusts). An essential part of raising money for infrastructure is asset monetization.

The NHAI has generated more over Rs 70,000 crore and employs several cutting-edge finance strategies.

Securitization through SPVs has produced about Rs 34,000 crore, the ToT model has earned Rs 26,000 crore, and the NHAI InVIT (National Highways Infra Trust) has raised Rs 10,000 crore.

The government has significantly boosted the economy with the creation of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan and the national infrastructure pipeline, the Union Minister continued. By minimising time and expense, the new infrastructure projects that will be included in these plans will contribute to integrated and overall development throughout India by linking the most remote regions of the country.
