25 elephants drove through Saria late on Friday night, breaking down the boundary wall between Bhekhlal Yadav and Munna Yadav's farms to consume the corn and pulses that had been produced there. Some villager's crops were trampled severely. The villagers were alerted when they learned that elephants were likely to arrive.
Giridih: Late on Friday night in Sariya of Girdih, Jharkhand, a herd of 25 elephants arrived at Pavapur village. There, they tore down the Yadavs' neighbours' boundary walls and ate the fields' worth of corn and pulses.
The elephants were chased away by the locals
Some villager's crops were trampled severely. The villagers were alerted when they learned that elephants were likely to arrive. Through the use of pyrotechnics and torches, they managed to drive the elephants into the forest. The victims provided the Forest Department with this information.
The members of the forest department arrived at the scene after learning of the elephant group's arrival and are attempting to drive them out of the Sariya region. Elephants are now wandering the Sariya woodlands.
Forest Service advised
Anshu Kumar, a forest ranger, said that the locals who live close to the forest had been warned. People who bring mushrooms from the forest have been told specifically these days not to go within the forest.
If not, they may be at danger of losing their lives and their possessions if an elephant runs into them. Elephant movement is being monitored by the forest department.

The victims have been instructed to submit claims for compensation to the department so that their paperwork may be transferred to higher-ups for suitable recompense. Elephants recently caused damage in Koyridih's dhabia.
