He is the first cricketer to have partnered for a century in a Test match with 18 different players. In 125 Tests, Gavaskar has scored 10122 runs. 34 centuries and 45 half-centuries have been produced over this time by his bat. He has scored 3092 runs in 108 ODIs, with one century and 27 half-centuries.
