 False army recruiting scheme exposed; one suspect taken into custody


Ranchi: The scheme to get medical certifications by charging potential army recruits money has been exposed. The officers of Namkum police station conducted a raid and apprehended an agent based on information provided by Military Intelligence (MI). He had certifications, medical records, and other private data that the police collected from him. Along with this, the suspect's phone included a number of recordings pertaining to fraudulent recruitment. This scam used to demand 50,000 rupees from each candidate on the pretence of creating bogus medical records.


According to the report, the MI of the Army's Central Command had learned that phoney money was being used to pass medical exams at recruiting rallies held at several Army locations in Ranchi. The Ranchi police received this information from MI. Following up on the tip, the police conducted a raid and detained one of the suspects.
