Adityapur: Although the Municipal Corporation provides 2.50 lakh litres of water daily via tankers, there is still a thirst problem

Even during the rain, the residents of Adityapur have dry hearts (Sanjeev Mehta). To satisfy their thirst, people in this area are walking from door to door. Due to the acute water shortage in the region, the Adityapur Municipal Corporation is delivering 2.50 lakh litres of water everyday via tankers, but the residents are still dehydrated. On the other side, due to the severe water shortage, Adityapur receives 1.20 lakh litres of water everyday from a number of volunteer organisations. But even that isn't working out. From Wards 11 to 17, there is a severe water shortage.

The people's health is poorer here. Girija Shankar Prasad, Additional Municipal Commissioner and Municipal Corporation Administrator, stated that they are devoting all of their resources to the provision of clean water in this respect. Through tankers, 2.50 lakh litres of water are delivered to the region each day. In addition, the Municipal Corporation provides 1.20 lakh litres of water per day via tankers owned by nonprofit organisation. He stated that he had increased his resources in order to make this arrangement in light of the water problem.

The Municipal Corporation has now assigned its staff to each ward to perform cleaning and water supply duties, allowing for the simultaneous completion of these tasks throughout the wards. No councillor or other powerful individual is interfering in this. According to him, there is no need for regular people to err because authorities have been assigned to the Municipal Corporation for other tasks such recommending birth-death certificates and other tasks. Let us say that despite this, the population's supply of drinking water continues to be insufficient.

The principal wards experiencing a water shortage are 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17, where either there is no plan in place for a pipe line water supply or the condition of the pipe line water supply is worse. Because of this, the residents of all of these wards are forced to rely only on tanker deliveries of water. However, the Municipal Corporation's structure is also proven to be inadequate. People in several communities are dissatisfied because tankers are not being deployed to them. These individuals are forced to scavenge for drinking water in such a circumstance.

Not just in pipeline regions, but also in non-pipeline wards, there is a water shortage. The demands of the populace are not being addressed because the water supply via pipeline is only available for an hour. Water supply is frequently not available till 4 a.m. People cannot receive water if they are not awake. Overall, the acute water problem in this area is becoming worse because of the absence of rain, especially in the month of Sawan. The level of the ground water would have increased if it had rained. People's boredom, etc., would have started as a result, but it hasn't been discovered this year. Because of this, the water issue persists even in Sawan.
