The Wagner Group Mutiny: How powerful are the Wagner Group's freelancers and where do they stand in relation to the Russian army? complete knowledge

The Wagner Group mercenaries' uprising is considered by many observers to be the largest crisis in Russian President Vladimir Putin's political career. Perhaps as a result, President Putin addressed his compatriots on television a short time later. In such a circumstance, the question of the Wagner group's strength and position in relation to the Russian army, one of the largest militaries in the world, emerges.

Moscow. Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner Group of mercenaries fighting alongside the Russian army in the conflict in Ukraine, has publicly defied Russian President Vladimir till just one day ago. On Saturday morning, the fighters from Prigozhin, who are thought to be connected to Putin, departed from Ukraine and began heading in the direction of Moscow.

According to many observers, this military uprising represents the largest crisis in President Putin's political career. Perhaps as a result, the president addressed his compatriots on television a short time afterwards. He referred to this as Prigozhin's armed revolt and vowed to defend Russia and all of its inhabitants at any costs. He concluded by stating that this insurrection poses a serious threat to our nation.

In such a circumstance, the question of the Wagner group's strength and position in relation to the Russian army, one of the largest militaries in the world, emerges.

The Wagner Group is thought to employ some 50,000 mercenaries, according to White House sources. Additionally, according to certain media accounts, 40,000 of these soldiers were allegedly recruited by the Wagner Group from Russian jails and had a criminal history.

Comparatively speaking, the Russian army, which has roughly a million active members, is thought to be the fifth-largest army in the world. The majority of these soldiers are fighting in Ukraine, which is an issue. There are around three lakh soldiers there, according to the Institute of War Studies. At the same time, over a million Russian soldiers are believed to have died on the Ukrainian front, according to Western officials.

What tools do warriors have at their disposal?

In Ukraine, the Wagner Group was still engaged in combat alongside Russian forces. These warriors are also employing all weapons in this situation, including Russian tanks and air defence apparatus. The Wagner Group is alleged to have purchased further weapons from North Korea as well, though.

Last year, the US asserted that North Korea had provided the Wagner Group with a number of weapons, including cannon balls. Pyongyang, though, rejected them as meaningless "gossip".

How much money do Wagner's warriors make?

How much the Wagner Group's mercenaries are paid is not totally known. Although it has been stated in some accounts that these troops make roughly 9,000 pounds per month, or about 9 lakh rupees, other reports claim that their pay is only a few hundred pounds or less.

During a recruitment campaign in September, Russian soldiers were being paid a minimum of 160,000 rubles (about Rs. 1.5 lakh) each month.
