Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in the United States for a three-day state visit. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was received for a state dinner at the White House by US President Joe Biden and his wife, First Lady Jill Biden, on the second day of this state visit.

As part of the ceremonial gift, US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden gave PM Modi a handcrafted and vintage American book galley from the early 20th century. Along with a hardback book on American wildlife photography and an archival replica print of George Eastman's original Kodak camera patent, President Biden also gave PM Modi an antique American camera. Jill Biden, the first lady of the United States, received a 7.5-carat lab-grown green diamond from PM Modi. This eco-friendly diamond has the same chemical and visual characteristics as diamonds that are mined from the soil. because it was built using environmentally friendly resources like solar and wind electricity. It is a representation of India's seventy-five years of freedom and steadfast worldwide ties.


President Joe Biden received a special gift from PM Modi that represents the Sahasra Poorna Chandrodayam celebration tradition. Additionally, he gave the US President a unique sandalwood box made by Jaipur's accomplished artisans. The flora and animal designs on this sandalwood from Mysore are masterfully carved. 


An image of the Hindu god Ganesha, who is regarded as the remover of barriers and the first of all deities to be worshipped, can be found inside the box. The event featured pasta and ice cream, two of President Biden's favourite foods, and was also attended by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his American counterpart Jake Sullivan.


Together with First Lady Jill Biden, White House Executive Chef Chris Comerford, and White House Executive Pastry Chef Susie Morrison's absence guest chef Nina Curtis created the menu for the state dinner. Chef Nina Curtis is a Californian cuisine artist with a base in Sacramento. She is renowned for her extraordinary talent and originality in plant-based cooking. Chef Curtis has over twenty years of expertise in significant positions and functions, including Executive Chef and Director of Culinary.


According to White House Social Administrator Carlos Elizondo, the peacock, India's national bird, served as inspiration for the state dinner's theme. At the state banquet conducted in PM Modi's honour, the First Lady served millets as a response to his demand for the consumption of millets. Included are based recipes.


Compressed Watermelon, Tangy Avocado Sauce, and Marinated Millet and Grilled Corn Kernel Salad were served as the first dish of the state supper. Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms and Creamy Saffron-Infused Risotto were served as the main meal. Summer Squash, Lemon-Dill Yoghurt Sauce, Crispy Millet Cake, and Sumac-Roasted Sea Bass were all included. Strawberry Shortcake with rose and cardamom was served for dessert.


President Joe Biden received additional special gifts from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The oil from Punjab, a handmade 24 karat gold coin from Rajasthan, a 99.5 karat silver coin, jaggery from Maharashtra, rice from Uttarakhand, sesame from Tamil Nadu, a silver coconut handcrafted by skilled artisans from West Bengal, and a lamp were among the items.


After dinner at the White House, PM Narendra Modi tweeted, "I appreciate the President of the United States of America Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden for hosting me today. We had a wonderful discussion about a variety of topics. Today, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak before the US Congress. President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Modi will also meet in private.


PM Modi met with Sanjay Mehrotra, President and CEO of Micron Technology, Gary E. Dickerson, President and CEO of Applied Materials, H. Lawrence Culp Jr., President and CEO of The electrical giant General Electric, Electric Aerospace, and H. Lawrence Culp before departing for the White House. PM Modi, who arrived in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, began his day by taking part in the 'Skilling for Future' event. There, he stated that the collaboration between India and the United States will be the driving force behind inclusive and sustainable global growth.


The third Indian head of state to visit the United States is PM Modi. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a former president, paid a visit in June 1963, and Manmohan Singh, a former prime minister, paid a visit in November 2009.
