Six of Amritpal Singh's colleagues were apprehended in Jalandhar's Mahatpur neighbourhood. Amritpal managed to flee from the police during this time. Amritpal was pursued by the police and taken into custody in Nakodar, according to sources. This hasn't been verified yet, though.

Amritpal Singh, the leader of Waris Punjab De, and six of his associates were apprehended by the Punjab Police on Saturday in relation to the assault on the Ajnala police station. It hasn't yet been formally confirmed, though. Many Punjabi regions were without internet access until Sunday afternoon. Sources claim that Amritpal's arrest did not disrupt the situation, therefore net services have been halted.

But, Amritpal has not yet been detained, according to Moga's SSP J Elenchelian, and an operation to find him is undoubtedly ongoing. Six of Amritpal Singh's colleagues had previously been captured in the Jalandhar neighbourhood of Mahatpur. Amritpal managed to flee from the police during this time. Amritpal was pursued by the police and taken into custody in Nakodar, according to sources. The police are also looking for Bhagwant Singh Bajeke, popularly known as Prime Minister, an acquaintance of Amritpal. According to sources, he might soon be taken into custody.


All residents have been asked by Punjab Police to keep the peace. Police tweeted that everyone should keep the peace and get along. To keep things in order, the Punjab Police is working. The public is urged not to panic and to refrain from spreading hate speech or false information.

Amritpal's Rampura Phool event in Bathinda was previously postponed as well. Amritpal was supposed to arrive there at 9:30, but when he didn't, the presentation was called off from the stage.

In several parts of Mohali, mobile internet access has been suspended. Some businesses have totally stopped offering mobile internet, however some individual businesses still offer it in specific locations. Mohali's security has been stepped up as a precaution. Reports about the removal of Qaumi Insaaf Morcha were going on in the region since morning.

But, according to the police, in response to Amritpal's case, Mohali Police has tightened security in the vicinity of the Qaumi Insaf Morcha.

High-ranking Mohali Police authorities advise against listening to rumours in this respect. All of the urban legends that are going around are false. For the sake of the city's residents' safety, the police keeps quiet. There will be no room for any sort of undesirable incidence there. If someone attempts to impose their will on the law, legal action will be taken against them.

Lovepreet Singh and Amritpal were among the 30 supporters of Varinder Singh of Chamkaur Sahib in Rupnagar district who were the targets of a complaint of kidnapping and assault. The police had already freed one of the defendants, but Amritpal had threatened to stage a sit-in in order to get Lovepreet released. Amritpal arrived at the police station with his supporters and carrying the sacred form of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. When the police tried to stop him, the outraged mob broke the barriers and stormed the police station with swords and firearms, injuring six cops including the SP.
