Order to Cancel Automobile Registration: Major Government Action! After 12 days, the registration for these vehicles will be cancelled

The Union Ministry of Road Transport has announced a change to the Motor Vehicle Act, which will make it mandatory to delete these vehicles' registrations in order to reduce pollution and support the circular economy.

All government vehicles older than 15 years must no longer be registered, according to a notification from the Union Ministry of Road Transport will be compulsorily terminated in order to reduce pollution and support the circular economy.

The registration of vehicles that have been renewed for more than 15 years will also be automatically deemed cancelled. Each of these outdated cars must always be recycled at a licenced scrap yard.

All cars older than 15 years must be scrapped, including those owned by the central government, state governments, union territories, corporations, state transportation, PSUs (public sector undertakings), and government autonomous institutions. Army vehicles are excepted from this, though. The new order will take effect on April 1st, 2023.

It is intriguing that all vehicles owned by the federal and state governments that were older than 15 years would need to be destroyed, according to a draught published by the Ministry of Road Transport in November of last year. It was stated that this law will apply to the buses and vehicles owned by Companies and the Transport Department as well. After then, the authorities has 30 days to collect suggestions and grievances over the draught. This regulation will now go into effect thanks to the administration.

Union minister Nitin Gadkari declared that any government vehicles that were older than 15 years will be scrapped in November of last year. The states have received the relevant policy. He had signed a paper directing all automobiles owned by the Government of India that are older than 15 years to comply with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's directive shall be scrapped. All of the states have received a copy of this policy, and they should all accept it.
