Canara Bank announced that it had raised the service fees for the annual fee, card replacement, debit card deactivation fee, and SMS alert fee. The service fee does not include taxes. Taxes that apply will be added on. Beginning on February 13, 2023, the updated service fees will be in effect.

Annual Fee for Canara Bank Debit Cards

Canara Bank has raised the annual cost for using debit cards as a result of the modifications. The Classic or Standard Debit Card's yearly charge has gone up from Rs. 125 to Rs. 200.


The annual price for the Platinum Card has gone up from Rs 250 to Rs 500, and the annual fee for the Business Card has gone up from Rs 300 to Rs 500. The bank will keep charging select debit cards an annual fee of Rs 1000.

There may be a cost of up to Rs 150 to change the debit card.

Canara Bank reports that beginning on February 13, customers must pay Rs 150 to switch their debit cards from the Classic or Standard categories. There was no charge for this earlier. For Platinum, Business, and a few other categories, the bank has raised the fee for replacing a debit card from Rs 50 to Rs 150.

There will be a fee for deactivating the Canara Bank debit card as well. This Rs 300 fee has been enforced by the bank and is only valid for business debit cards. The remaining categories of cards can be deactivated without incurring any fees. A Rs. 15 fee has been charged by the bank for the SMS warning.

Charges for message alerts and the deactivation of Canara Bank debit cards

For users of business debit cards, the bank will now charge a Rs 300 yearly card inactivity fee. No additional fees will be applied to any other kind of card. Furthermore, Canara Bank will now charge for SMS alerts based on real usage.

Additionally, Canara Bank increased the loan's fee.

The Marginal Cost Based Lending Rate (MCLR), which Canara Bank recently raised by 15 to 25 basis points. Home, auto, and personal loans will cost more if MCLR rises. On January 7, 2023, the new interest rates went into effect.
