• Motilal Oswal said Bajaj Finance's AUM growth was lower than expected

Shares of Bajaj Finance today declined over 8% or about ₹550 after the company's assets under management numbers for the quarter ended December 31 came in below market expectations. Sharing its business update to the exchanges, Bajaj Finance said that its assets under management (AUM) grew by 27% year-on-year to approximately ₹230,850 crore as on December 31, 2022, as against ₹181,250 crore as on December 31, 2021. The AUM in Q3 FY23 increased by approximately ₹12,500 crore. On a sequential basis (q-o-q), it was up 6%.

Motilal Oswal said Bajaj Finance's AUM growth was below expectations, though the development indicated that delivery was strong across product segments.

Besides, the capital adequacy ratio or CRAR was flat QoQ at 25.1%, suggesting weak growth and lower utilization of capital, Motilal Oswal said.


At 9:40 am, shares of Bajaj Finance were trading down 5% at ₹6,269 per share.
