According to a spokesperson of the Uttar Pradesh government, the Ganga Vilas cruise, which had set sail from the coast of Kolkata on December 22 with 32 Swiss visitors, would reach Varanasi on January 6. According to officials, the outdoor setting of the upper deck includes a bar with real teak steamer chairs and coffee tables that are sufficient to provide passengers with a one-of-a-kind cruise experience.

There are 18 elegantly decorated suites onboard. It was constructed with a distinctive style and a futuristic outlook. Ganga Vilas pioneers the boutique experience on the river by combining traditional and contemporary amenities with minimalist decor. The apartments feature serene interiors with chosen color schemes.

According to representatives of the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Agency, they are equipped with a range of amenities such as a bathroom with shower, convertible bed, a French balcony, an LED TV, a safe, smoke alarms, life vests and sprinklers.

It is unclear how much a ticket for the world's longest river cruise from Varanasi to Dibrugarh on the Ganges River costs. However, to get an idea, the fare price for the "Incredible Banaras" package by the same company Antara starts from ₹1,12,000. The four-day journey takes place between Varanasi and Kaithi.

Kashif Siddiqui, Director Sales & Strategic Marketing India, Antara Luxury River Cruises, spoke exclusively to Livemint and revealed why there is hardly any information about the ticket price of this historic cruise. The fact is that all tickets have been sold out for the next few years to Swiss tourists, who paid a whopping ₹38 lakh for each suite. It's worth noting that the prices are at least 1.5 years old as this is from the time the company closed the deal.
