Covid-19 Update: India's active caseload rises marginally to 2,509.

India has recorded 214 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative coronavirus tally to 4.46 crore (4,46,79,761), according to the Union Health Ministry's data updated on Saturday.

With this, the country's active caseload increased marginally to 2,509, which is 0.01 per cent of the total infections. Active COVID-19 caseload has registered an increase of six cases in a span of 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, the death toll rose to 5,30,718 with four deaths in the last 24 hours - two in Kerala, and one each in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, said the data updated at 8 am. reported that.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.11 per cent. According to the health ministry website, the weekly positivity rate stood at 0.12 per cent.

As per official data, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.80 per cent.

The number of people recovering from the disease has increased to 4,41,46,534. The case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 per cent.

According to the website of the ministry, 220.13 crore doses of Kovid-19 vaccines have been given so far in the country under the nationwide vaccination campaign.

India's Covid-19 tally crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It had crossed 60 lakhs on 28th September, 70 lakhs on 11th October. Crossed 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and one crore on 19th December.

India crossed the grim milestone of two crore on May 4, 2021, three crore on June 23 and four crore on January 25 last year.
