Kovid-19- 173 new cases were reported in India, two deaths occurred in a day

New Delhi: India reported 173 new coronavirus infections and two deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said in an update on Monday. The country's active caseload currently stands at 2,670 cases, taking the total reported cases in 2020 to 44.6 million and the death toll to 530,707.

According to the ministry, active cases comprise 0.01% of the total infections, while recoveries stand at 98.80%.

As of now, Karnataka has 326 active cases, Kerala has 1,444 active cases, Maharashtra has 161, Odisha has 88 cases, Rajasthan has 79 active cases, Tamil Nadu has 86 active cases, Uttar Pradesh has 49 and West Bengal has 55 active cases .

The country has conducted 92,955 tests in the last 24 hours. So far, more than 220.1 crore vaccine doses have been given to people across the country under the Covid vaccination campaign. 6,675 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, INSACOG, under the supervision of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), has kept up with genome sequencing to track down any new variants.

Hospitals are also being continuously monitored for Influenza Like Illness (IIL) and SARI cases.
