The Uttar Pradesh government has signed an MoU with the University of Austin for US$ 42 billion to set up the Austin Smart City of Knowledge in the state. Uttar Pradesh Minister Suresh Khanna, Former Minister Siddharth Nath Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Infrastructure and Industrial Development Arvind Kumar and others were present on the occasion.
Austin University President Ashraf Al Mustafa told news agency ANI, “It is going to happen in UP. It is a US$ 42 billion project built on 5,000 acres of land. It will have the best universities coming under the project. Hopefully, this will change the way we think about higher education in India and elsewhere."
