CTC of ₹2,64 cr, 45 international offers: Highlights of IIT-Kharagpur's first phase of placements

 


IIT-Kharagpur's first phase of placements ended with over 1,600 job offers.

In the second week of December, IIT-Kharagpur announced the completion of the first part of the 2021-22 placement session, resulting in over 1,600 job offers and over 900 internship opportunities. The institute received 48 offers with CTC ranging from Rs. 50 lakh to Rs. 2.64 crores.

The highest package of ₹2.68 crore was given to Kharagpur. It is the only IIT on the first day of placements, the institute had said in a statement earlier.

During the first phase, more than 300 companies from various industries participated. The companies include high-frequency trading, banking, software, analytics, consultancy and core engineering firms.

IIT-Kharagpur has received a total of 45 international offers, including 28 from Japan, 9 from Taiwan, 3 from the US, 2 from Singapore and 3 from other countries. A milestone for all IITs, the season started with over 500 pre-placement offers (PPOs), which rapidly increased to over 1,000 offers on the second day, according to a statement from IIT-Kharagpur.

Google, Microsoft, Tata Steel, Accenture Japan and Da Vinci Derivatives are some of the companies that recruited students in the just concluded session. Other recruits included companies such as Airbus, Hindustan Unilever, Accel, Qualcomm, Squarepoint Capital and NK Securities.

The next phase of placement session is expected to start in the second week of January 2023. The excellent performance, according to A Rajkumar, was the result of the technical prowess of the students and the strong curriculum of IIT KGP. In the second phase, more core companies are expected to offer placement and internship prospects to students, said the chairman of the Career Development Center at IIT-Kharagpur.

Rajkumar had earlier said, "The institute has broken its own record of first day offers and fastest 1000+ on second day among all IITs, furthering the legacy of IIT Kharagpur as well as students." quality is supported."
