'The innings you played...': Sachin Tendulkar reacts to Ishan Kishan's 200 against Bangladesh

• Ishan Kishan became the fourth Indian player in the history of the Indian team to score a double century in a One Day International (ODI) match.

Ishan Kishan did what only a few Indian players in the Indian cricket team can do on Saturday. The young Indian batsman became the fourth Indian player in the history of the Indian team to score a double century in a One Day International (ODI) match. Before Kishan, the names of legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma are the mark of achievement.

The first two ODIs against Bangladesh did not go well for the Indian team and fans were particularly disappointed with the lack of enthusiasm in the Indian cricket team. But Ishan's impressive 210 off just 131 balls couldn't have come at a better pace.

Along with this, a century from Virat Kohli came as an absolute delight for the Indian cricket fans. Kohli scored an innings of 113 runs in 91 balls and completed his 72nd ODI century after three years.

Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar reacted to Ishan Kishan's performance and appreciated his innings. Tendulkar also congratulated Virat Kohli, who has come back completely from his struggling days.

"A brilliant knock! A brilliant knock! The innings you played today deserves double appreciation @ishankishan51! Brilliant knock from @imVkohli too. Many congratulations!" Tendulkar tweeted.

In February 2010, Sachin Tendulkar became the first Indian player to score a double century, which he scored against South Africa. After that Virender Sehwag also scored a double century and Rohit Sharma is the only player to score three double centuries in ODI cricket. Sharma also holds the record for scoring the most runs in ODIs, which is 264 off 173 balls against Sri Lanka in 2014.

Due to Rohit Sharma's injury, Ishan Kishan opened with Shikhar Dhawan on Saturday. Dhawan got out for just three runs, but after that Kishan and Kohli gave Bangladesh bowlers a really tough time as the partnership added 290 runs to the scoreboard.
