The move comes three months after a farm house was raided in Telangana's Moinabad and the Cyberabad police claimed to have busted a plot to topple the ruling BRS government by 'buying' four MLAs for ₹100 crore.

In addition, on October 26, three persons were arrested for allegedly luring MPs to join the BJP by offering them huge money, positions and contracts.

Of the accused, Nand Kumar is from state capital Hyderabad, while Simhaji Swamy is from Tirupati in neighboring Andhra Pradesh. The third Ramchandra Bharti is a resident of Faridabad, Haryana.

Among the ruling party MLAs he tried to woo are Pilot Rohit Reddy, Guvwala Balraju, B Harshavardhan Reddy and Rega Kantha Rao.

The BJP has denied that it tried to poach MLAs. Elections are likely to be held in Telangana by the end of 2023.
