This is the second time that the former Congress president has joined the yatra that started from Kanyakumari in September.

He had earlier participated in the march in October when he was in Karnataka.

Wearing a face mask, Sonia Gandhi walked for a few minutes with her son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra before reaching Ashram Chowk here for the morning leg of the yatra.

The yatra entered Delhi from Haryana on Saturday morning and was warmly received by party leaders and workers at the Badarpur border.

Bharat Jodo Yatra will reach Red Fort at around 4.30 pm. The yatra will also visit Rajghat and pay homage to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

Delhi Congress workers led by Delhi unit chief Anil Chaudhary welcomed Rahul Gandhi and other passengers at the border at Badarpur, reported PTI.

Congress wrote in Hindi on Twitter, 'Remove inflation, unemployment and hatred. With this voice of India, we have come to the throne of 'King', we have come to Delhi. It's even higher."

The yatra, which started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7, has so far passed through nine states and is scheduled to end in Jammu and Kashmir by the end of January.

Traffic jams were reported from parts of Delhi as the march made its way through the national capital.
