COVID-19 Update: With three deaths in Kerala, the death toll has climbed to 5,30,702.
India reported over 200 (226) new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally to 4.46 crore, according to the Union Health Ministry's data updated on Saturday.
With this, the country's active caseload increased to 3,653. Active cases comprise 0.01 per cent of the total infections. An increase of 44 has been registered in the number of active COVID-19 cases in a span of 24 hours.
According to the data updated by the ministry at 8 am, the death toll stands at 5,30,702, with three deaths being matched by Kerala.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.12 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 0.15 per cent, the ministry said.
It said 1,87,983 tests were conducted to detect Covid in the last 24 hours
According to the Health Ministry website, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.80 per cent.
The number of people who have recovered from the disease increased to 4,41,44,029, while the fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 per cent, the ministry said.
A total of 4,46,78,384 cases have been registered in the country so far.
According to the ministry, 220.10 crore doses of Kovid vaccine have been given so far in the country under the nationwide Kovid-19 vaccination campaign.
India's Covid-19 tally crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It had crossed 60 lakhs on 28th September, 70 lakhs on 11th October. Crossed 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and one crore on 19th December, 2020.
The country crossed the grim milestone of two crore cases on May 4, 2021, three crore cases on June 23 and four crore cases on January 25 this year.
