The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of another low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea around December 5.
"It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a depression over southeast Bay of Bengal during next 48 hours," the weather agency predicted. Heavy rain forecast:
Fairly widespread to widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls has been predicted over Nicobar Islands on 04 December and over Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 5 December.
Squally weather (wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) very likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal on 04 December.
Strong Wind (wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph) over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Southeast Bay of Bengal and Stormy Weather over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea on 05 December ( Squally 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) is expected. , Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas.
Due to the easterly wave, isolated/scattered light/moderate rain is very likely over Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep during next 4-5 days.
Heavy rainfall is also likely at a few places over Tamil Nadu on December 3.
Dense Fog Warning:
No significant change in minimum temperature is expected over northern parts of the country during next 5 days.
The minimum temperature is very likely to increase gradually by 2-3°C over Maharashtra during next 3 days with no significant change thereafter.
Dense fog is expected in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab during next 3 days.
The minimum temperature in New Delhi is below the season's average
The air quality in the national capital remained in the very poor category on Thursday even as the minimum temperature settled at 8.3 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature is expected to be around 26 degree Celsius.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the overall air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 367 (very poor category) at 9 am.
