Covid test mandatory for passengers from affected countries at Delhi airport

New Delhi: In view of rising cases of COVID in China and other parts of the world, the Central Government has made COVID-19 testing mandatory for all passengers arriving from China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Thailand at the Delhi International Airport. Is. ,

These directions to the state government come at a time when China is grappling with a rise in infections due to the Omicron BF.7 variant. Apart from this, new cases are rising again in the winter wave of Kovid in Japan, South Korea, Brazil and America.


Medical oxygen is a vital and important resource in all clinical settings, especially during pandemic management. A reliable oxygen supply is critical to patient care and saving lives during COVID-19 management.


Dr. Manohar Agnani, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health, has asked the States/UTs to ensure that PSA plants are kept fully functional and regular mock drills are being conducted to test them.


In the last 24 hours, India has reported around 201 new cases, taking the total number of positive confirmed cases to 44.6 million so far. The total death toll is 530,691.


“Availability of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in healthcare facilities and an uninterrupted supply chain for their refilling must be ensured. Adequate inventory of oxygen cylinders is maintained with backup stock and a robust refilling system. "Availability of functional life support equipment like ventilators, BIPAP and SpO2 systems along with their consumables," Agnini said in a letter seen by Mint.


The health ministry conducts weekly review meetings with all states and union territories (UTs) to ensure that all these medical oxygen equipment are well installed and functioning properly. In addition, the Ministry also facilitates resolution of technical issues being faced by the States/UTs.


In April last year, the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on rational use of oxygen was shared by the Health Ministry with all States/UTs. In addition, training was conducted to ensure skilled human resources to maintain this equipment optimally.


While more than 1 lakh Covid vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, the total doses administered so far stand at 220.04 crore.


Around 183 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to around 4,41,42,791. India has conducted a total of 90.97 crore Covid-19 tests so far with 1.3 lakh tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
