Kochi to host Urban Mobility India Summit

New Delhi: Kochi will host the Urban Mobility India (UMI) conference from November 4-6 to discuss the challenges and issues related to urban transport, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said in a statement.

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will jointly inaugurate the 15th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Convention and Expo 2022 in Kochi on November 4, 2022.

The event will be attended by senior officials of policy makers from the central and state governments, managing directors of metro rail companies, chief executive officers of transport undertakings, international experts, professionals, academicians and students.

The ministry said, “The conference provides an opportunity to interact with other professionals, technology and service providers, both domestic and international, so that delegates can take home ideas to develop their urban transport on a sustainable path. "

This year, the Urban Mobility India (UMI) conference and expo will focus on the theme of "Azadi@75 - Sustainable Atma Nirbhar Urban Mobility".
