Kannada hit 'Kantara' to stream on Amazon Prime Video

New Delhi: Kannada hit Kantara will stream on Amazon Prime Video from November 24. The film had earned around ₹80 crore at last count with its Hindi version alone. Crossing the ₹47 crore mark at the box office earlier this month, it had surpassed the ₹44 crore made by action film KGF - Chapter 1 in 2018. The latter was the first Kannada film to enter the Hindi-speaking market.

Trade experts say there are two aspects to the Kannada industry widening its horizons. The first is that with the rapid growth of OTT platforms, the audience has been exposed to a plethora of information and content and multiplexes are cashing in on the same and using their full capacity to schedule various movies as per the needs and wants of the customers. are using. Secondly, movies like KGF 2 and Vikrant Rona are high on mass appeal and are being dubbed in multiple languages ​​to be able to reach out to a larger audience, the ultimate aim being to make better collections at the box office and get higher footfalls.
