Netanyahu recalled their date at an Indian restaurant when he hosted Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2017 and remarked that "the food was great". He also told how he had asked Reena Pushkarna to prepare dinner for the Indian leader, adding that the food was "equally good".


Reena Pushkarna also recalled that Netanyahu narrated his love story to PM Modi during his visit to Israel.


And in a reflection of Netanyahu's love for Indian food, the 73-year-old Israeli leader was served a meal from the restaurant on Thursday.


"Just got it from PMO. PM's have tandoori chicken for lunch today. He likes tandoori chicken, grilled everything, loves butter chicken sauce that we make tikka masala style due to kosher restrictions The Netanyahu family doesn't like green coriander," said Reena Pushkaran.


He also talked about the personal bond between PM Modi and Netanyahu.


He said, "I see that the relations (India-Israel) are progressing rapidly. I saw the chemistry between PM Netanyahu and PM Modi. It is a personal relationship between them. It is more trust which is better for both the people. works for," she said. ,


"Basically it's a lot of politics happening in the background, but it's more than the food. We are very honored that it's Indian food, which both the prime ministers love," she said.


Talking about Netanyahu's love for Indian food, he said that Likud party leaders love butter chicken and grilled everything.


"He loves butter chicken sauce. The whole family doesn't like coriander leaves which are taboo in the whole family," she quipped.


Not only Netanyahu's love story, the 40-year-old Indian restaurant also played a role in the diplomacy between Israel and the Palestinian leadership, which later resulted in the famous Oslo Accords.


"The first time Oslo (talks) took place here, before they moved to Jerusalem and from there to Oslo," she said.


"Even European newspapers said that there were peace talks over hot curry and that Indians had a role in it. But it was not politics but all the food," he said.

Reena Pushkaran, who is on the Advisory Council of the India-Israel Asia Centre, is a celebrity chef, restaurateur and business entrepreneur.


According to the Israel-Asia Center, in 2003, she joined Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's delegation, and in January 2018 joined Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to India.
