India's G20 Presidency: PM Narendra Modi to unveil logo, website and theme today

 


The Prime Minister will unveil the logo, theme and website of India's G20 Presidency via video-conferencing at 4:30 pm on November 8.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the logo, theme and website of India's G20 Presidency via video conferencing today at 4:30 pm.

Guided by the vision of the Prime Minister, India's foreign policy is evolving to assume a leadership role on the global stage. As a significant step in this direction, India will assume the presidency of the G20 with effect from December 1, 2022. The G20 Presidency offers India a unique opportunity to contribute to the global agenda on important issues of international importance. The logo, theme and website of our G20 Presidency will reflect India's message and the wider priorities for the world.

The G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation, representing approximately 85% of global GDP, more than 75% of global trade and approximately two-thirds of the world's population. During the G20 Presidency, India will hold around 200 meetings in 32 different sectors at multiple locations across India. Next year's G20 summit will be one of the highest profile international gatherings to be hosted by India.

Announcing on Monday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that the presidency of the G20 provides a unique opportunity for India to contribute to the global agenda on important issues of international importance.

It said the logo, theme and website of India's G20 presidency will reflect the country's "message and wider priorities" for the world.

This includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and the United States. European Union (EU).

"The Prime Minister will unveil the logo, theme and website of India's G20 Presidency via video-conferencing on November 8 at 4:30 pm," the Ministry of External Affairs said.

The G20 summit will be held in Bali on November 15-16 and PM Modi is set to be among the top leaders to attend.

"Guided by the Prime Minister's vision, India's foreign policy is evolving to assume a leadership role on the global stage," the Ministry of External Affairs said.

"In a significant step in this direction, India will assume the G20 presidency from December 1. The G20 Presidency offers India a unique opportunity to contribute to the global agenda on issues of international importance," it added.

The G20 is the principal forum for international economic cooperation, representing approximately 85 percent of global GDP, more than 75 percent of global trade and nearly two-thirds of the world's population.

"During its G20 Presidency, India will hold around 200 meetings in 32 different sectors at multiple locations across India," the MEA said in a statement.

"Next year's G20 summit will be one of the highest-profile international events to be hosted by India," it said.

India is currently part of the G20 Troika (current, past and upcoming G20 presidencies) which includes Indonesia, Italy and India.
