• Rishi Sunak holds talks with President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and expresses UK solidarity and support for Ukrainians

Newly appointed UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak held talks with President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and expressed the UK's solidarity and support for the people of Ukraine.

Sunak tweeted after the conversation, "Had the privilege of speaking with the President of Ukraine. Vladimir Zelensky this evening. He and the people of Ukraine can count on the continued solidarity and support of the UK. We will always stand by Ukraine."

"I believe the partnership between our states as well as the UK's leadership in defending democracy and freedom will continue to grow stronger," Zelensky said in his daily address to the nation after the phone call.

In an excellent conversation with @RishiSunak  we agreed to write a new chapter in relations but the story remains the same - full support in the face of Russian aggression. I appreciate the Prime Minister's first call to Ukraine. And forever grateful for people's support.
