DU Admissions: Over 72k students accepted seats in first list, check next step here

 


Over 72,800 candidates out of 80,164 in Delhi University's first round of allotment have accepted the colleges and courses allotted to them.

Registrar Vikas Gupta was quoted by news agency PTI as saying that more than 72,800 candidates out of 80,164 have accepted the colleges and courses allotted to them in the first round of allotment of Delhi University.


"72,865 candidates have accepted their allotted college and course," the university's registrar told PTI.


The number of seats in DU's colleges is 70,000, but the university has allocated additional seats in unreserved (OBC-NCL and EWS) and reserved (SC, ST and PWBD) categories, taking the number to 80,164.


The University of Delhi (DU) had on Wednesday announced the much-awaited first list of seat allotment, marking the start of the third and final phase of the admission process for undergraduate programmes. The provision of acceptance of a particular allotted seat is valid only for the round in which the seat was allotted to the candidate.


The first seat allotment list marked the beginning of the third and final stage of the admission process. For the first round of CSAS allotment and admission, the last date for online payment of admission fee is October 24.


Next day on 25th October the university will display the course wise vacant seats. Thereafter candidates will get a chance to re-arrange their preferences as per the updated vacancies of seats from October 25 to October 27 at 4:59 PM.


After this, the university will release the second round of CSAS (Common Seat Allocation System) list on October 30. After this the candidates will get time till November 1 to accept the allotted seat. The respective colleges will verify and approve the admission by November 2 and the candidates who have got admission in the second list can pay the fee till November 3.


A similar procedure will be followed for the third round of admission in which middle entries will also be allowed. The university will also start the spot allocation round from November 17.


The admission process which started from September 12 is being conducted in three phases: first stage is to apply to the university, second stage is to fill preference and third stage is seat allotment-cum-admission.
