Diwali 2022: Time for Lakshmi Puja tomorrow, do's and don'ts check

People welcome Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, who is believed to bless people with luck and prosperity.


The festival of lights has started. Diwali signifies the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and happiness over despair. Tomorrow i.e. on the third day of Deepawali, the main festival of Deepawali is Lakshmi Puja.


The main celebration of Diwali takes place on this day as Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after killing Ravana. People welcome Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, who is believed to bless people with luck and prosperity.


Diwali is celebrated all over the country with great gaiety and enthusiasm. People perform pujas, perform rituals, decorate their homes with diyas, rangolis, ornaments and lights, enjoy delectable sweets and food, wear new traditional costumes, and much more.


People perform Lakshmi Puja on the third day (Diwali), also known as Diwali Puja. During the long festivities, this is the most important day. Early in the morning, devotees worship their ancestors and perform Shradh on the new moon. Lakshmi Puja is performed during Pradosh Kaal on Diwali, which begins after sunset and lasts for two hours twenty four minutes (approximately).

Clean your homes and workplace. Decorate it with lights, diyas, diyas, flowers, rangoli and candles to bring prosperity.


Keeping a Manglik Kalash wrapped in unpeeled coconut on either side of the entrance is considered auspicious.


Clean the place of worship as well. Spread red colored cloth on the place where you are going to worship. Place idols including Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Saraswati and Lord Ganesha on the cloth. Then install the idol of Goddess Shodash at that place.

People refrain from consuming non-vegetarian food or alcohol on the day of Diwali.

According to the Drik Panchang, the auspicious time to perform Diwali Puja this year will be from 6:53 pm to 8:16 pm. As per tradition, Diwali Puja is to be performed during Pradosh Kaal, which begins at 5:43 pm and ends at 8:16 pm on Monday.
