Bangalore again submerged in water, waterlogging due to heavy rain, yellow alert issued

 

Heavy rains lashed Bengaluru on Wednesday evening, inundating several areas in the east, south and central parts of the city. A yellow alert has been issued for the next few days.

By India Today Web Desk: Amid heavy rain forecast in parts of Karnataka for the next few days, IT capital Bengaluru lashed IT capital Bengaluru on Wednesday evening, flooding several areas in east, south and central parts of the city.


According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert indicating heavy rain has been issued, as the rain will continue for the next three days.


Scenes from low-lying areas showed heavily waterlogged roads, water flowing through open manholes, flooded basement parking and damaged vehicles.

A resident shared a video of a flooded basement on Twitter and wrote, "It's not a river, it's the basement of my building. #bbmp #bengalururains"



Bellandur was once again waterlogged.


Meanwhile, a wall near Majestic also collapsed due to heavy rains, damaging several vehicles parked on the road.

Last month, the city was battling unprecedented floods after three consecutive days of rain. Parts of the city where global IT companies and domestic start-ups are located were under water, which took days to recede.
