Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi also joined the Bharat Jodi Yatra on Thursday after it resumed after a two-day break. The yatra resumed on 6 October from Pandavapura taluk, Mandya.
Significantly, Sonia Gandhi could not participate in the previous campaigns of the party due to her health issues. This was his first public program of its kind in the party after a long hiatus.
The Bharat Jodi Yatra of the Congress completed a month on Saturday. Senior party leader Jairam Ramesh said that this padyatra is nothing short of transformational politics.
“The 1 month of Bharat Jodi Yatra is nothing short of transformative politics. The public response was expected in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, while in Karnataka it has exceeded expectations. It has been exhausting but extremely satisfying. A fresh, revived Congress is emerging!” tweeted Ramesh.
The Congress has also shared the entire one-month journey of the Bharat Jodi Yatra on its official Twitter handle by posting short clips of each day's padyatra starting from September 7.

The 3,570 km long 'Bharat Jodi Yatra' started from Kanyakumari on 8 September. The nationwide march is covering a distance of about 25 km every day. Going forward under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party convoy aims to cover 12 states in five months. The party has claimed to counter the divisive politics of the BJP-led Centre, with its 'Bharat Jodi Yatra'. The party claims that the yatra is an attempt to awaken the people of the country to the dangers of economic inequalities, social polarization and political centralisation.
