The goal of the hiring campaign is to fill 827 positions in total.


UPSC CMS Exam 2024: To fill a total of 827 positions, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) on July 14. Two shifts will be held for the exam: 9:30 am to 11:30 am for the first shift, and 2 pm to 4 pm for the second.

120 questions in all (24 from pediatrics and 96 from general medicine)


The syllabus includes subjects including common childhood emergencies, basic newborn care, immunization in pediatrics, and respiratory diseases, gastrointestinal problems, neurology, and cardiology in general medicine.

Points: 250


Topics: Surgery, Social & Preventive Medicine, Gynecology & Obstetrics


120 questions in all, 40 in each section.


The syllabus covers a wide range of subjects, including family planning, obstetrics, gynecology, and neurosurgery; general surgery; urological surgery; neurosurgery; and different facets of preventive, social, and community medicine.


Both exams will only be offered in English and will only include objective (Multiple Choice Question) style questions.


UPSC CMS 2024: Requirements for Education


To be eligible for the CMS 2024 Exam, applicants must have completed their last MBBS exam. Even if they haven't finished their required rotational internship, they are still qualified; nevertheless, their admittance will only be granted temporarily.


Guidelines for UPSC CMS 2024


At the testing location, candidates must provide a printout of their electronic admit card.Applicants whose names and dates are missing or whose picture on the electronic admission card is unclearmust bring two passport-sized photos and a picture identification card.At least thirty minutes prior to the test's scheduled start time—9 a.m. for the afternoon session and 1 p.m. for the afternoon session—candidates must arrive in the exam room.Bringing a black ballpoint pen to complete the OMR answer sheets and attendance list is recommended.
