Sunetra Pawar, Ajit's wife, submits paperwork to run as an NCP candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections

Sunetra Pawar lost the recently ended Lok Sabha elections in the Baramati seat, but her sister-in-law Supriya Sule won for the fourth time in a row.

Sunetra Pawar, the wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, submitted papers on Thursday to run for the Rajya Sabha as an NCP member.

Sunetra Pawar lost the recently ended Lok Sabha elections in the Baramati seat, but her sister-in-law Supriya Sule won for the fourth time in a row.

"Sunetra Pawar will run for the Rajya Sabha under the NCP's decision. Party officials decided on her name at a meeting on Wednesday night, even though I was eager to run for office as well," said state minister and prominent NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal in this location.

"Everyone must accept the choice made by the party. Certain compulsions exist. When asked about his disappointment at not being selected for the Rajya Sabha elections, Bhujbal said, "I am not an independent person, but a party worker and leader."

Ten positions in the Upper House have been announced by the Rajya Sabha secretariat. These positions are divided among Assam, Bihar, Maharashtra, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Tripura, with two apiece.
