Fighting Outside the Bokaro Counting Center



Bokaro: On Tuesday, during the vote counting for the Giridih Lok Sabha seat at the Chas Krishi Bazar Samiti, a fight broke out between Jairam Mahto's supporters and NDA party officials outside a polling booth. This caused commotion in the area of the counting station.


The police used water cannons, lathicharges, and tear gas to subdue the rabble-rousing crowd as the situation became out of control. Six people were hurt in all throughout the event.


"Supporters of Jairam Mahto entered the BJP office located at ITI turn as well as started fighting, after which the police fired tear gas shells and lathicharged," said Tarkeshwar Ram, the President of the BJP's Dumri Mandal. He said that the altercation had hurt his leg.
