Amit Shah will Examine the Nation's Flood Preparedness in Light of Growing Monsoon Difficulties


Union Home Minister Amit Shah will assess the state of preparedness to combat floods that impact different parts of India during the monsoon season. States that experience flooding regularly include Bihar, Assam, and other states. The general flood control techniques will be discussed during the conference. Assam alone has had tremendous effects this year, with 3.90 lakh people impacted.


On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will carry out an extensive evaluation to evaluate the readiness for handling floods that affect several regions of India during the monsoon season.


Every year, major flooding occurs in eastern regions like Bihar, Assam, and others because of increasing river levels brought on by monsoon rainfall.


According to a home ministry official, "the home minister will chair a high-level meeting in assessing the nation's flood management strategies."


In recent years, floods and landslides have also affected other states, including as Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Jammu & Kashmir.


According to government data, Assam is experiencing severe floods this year that is affecting almost 3.90 lakh inhabitants in 19 districts. There have been 37 fatalities from storms, landslides, and floods, and one person has been reported missing.
