Writing to opposition leaders over "discrepancies" in polling data made public by the EC, Mallikarjun Kharge

Leaders of the INDIA group were asked by Kharge in his letter to speak out against these differences since "our only objective is to protect the culture of a vibrant democracy and the Constitution."

In a letter to the leaders of the opposition parties in India, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge questioned purported disparities in the vote figures made public by the Election Commission (EC).

Leaders of the INDIA group were asked by Kharge in his letter to speak out against these differences since "our only objective is to protect the culture of a vibrant republic and the Constitution."

"Let us safeguard the independence of the Election Commission of India and make it accountable," he stated in his letter.

"As the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), we should work together to defend democracy and the ECI's autonomous operation. Given everything described above, we are forced to wonder, "Is there a chance that the results have been manipulated in some way?" He inquired.

"It is common knowledge that the BJP and Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi are very agitated and displeased with the election results and their declining fortunes in the first two rounds. "Everyone in the country is aware that a power-hungry autocratic government will stop at nothing to maintain its hold on power," said Kharge.

"I would urge all of you that we must collectively, unitedly as well as unequivocally raise our voice against such contradictions, for our only objective is to protect the culture of a vibrant democracy as well as the Constitution," he said.

Concerns have been expressed by a number of opposition parties over the EC's tardiness in disclosing the polling data.

Sharing his letter on X, Kharge wrote, "My letter to the leaders of INDIA parties, regarding the discrepancies in the vote information Report Phrase released by Election Commission of India and non-publishing of registered voters." In the third stage of the parliamentary elections, which are taking place on Tuesday across 11 states and Union territory, there are 93 seats.
