The next-generation Panamera supersport car from Porsche India is priced at Rs 1.70 crore
The Mercedes-AMG GT63 S e-Performance 4-door Coupe and the future BMW M8 Gran Coupe are the rivals of the third generation Panamera.
The all-new Panamera from Porsche India is available for Rs 1,69,62,000 (ex-showroom, Kolkata). Arriving as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) from its Stuttgart factory in Germany, the high-performance vehicle will start to be delivered on May 4.
According to the German automaker, the Indian market for ultra-luxury sedans is growing, and the Panamera will play a major role in that market. However, the business disclosed no sales goals for this model.
The 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine powering the super sport sedan, which will only be offered in Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) variant, has a maximum power output of 349 horsepower and a peak torque of 500 Nm. An 8-speed PDK automated gearbox is matched with the engine. The 2018 Panamera is said to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in only 5.1 seconds, with a peak speed of 272 km/h.
An official from the firm said, "For Porsche, India is not just about Delhi or Mumbai, but also Kolkata," when asked what was the main motivation for releasing the model in Kolkata. This city is the location of its new showroom, and it is receiving sizable orders from there.
The Mercedes-AMG GT63 S e-Performance 4-door Coupe (Rs 3.30 crore, ex-showroom) and the impending BMW M8 Gran Coupe are the rivals of the third generation Panamera. Porsche India has not confirmed whether or not this model's hybrid variant would be sold in India.
On the strength of the new Panamera and Macan EV, which will be delivered this year, Porsche India is anticipating record sales this year. The firm previously supplied 914 units in the nation, and as of the first quarter of this year, it has already sold 244 units, or 15% of the total.
