The IT sector association Nasscom offered condolences on social networking site X. "We will never forget the tremendous contributions of Vineet Nayyar, former Executive Vice Chairman of Tech Mahindra," said Nasscom in a message. His unwavering commitment and imaginative leadership have made a lasting impression on the sector. We send our sincere sympathies to his friends, family, and coworkers. His accomplishments and influence have left a long-lasting legacy."

Nayyar, who was born in 1939, graduated from Williams College in Massachusetts with a master's degree in development economics. His career began in the Indian Administrative Services, where he held a number of high-level roles, such as district magistrate, secretary of agriculture for Haryana, as well as director of the central government's Department of Economic Affairs.
