Google CEO Sundar Pichai provides a preview of Google I/O 2024 during his LinkedIn debut

On the eve of Google's largest event of 2024, Google CEO Sundar Pichai went to the Microsoft-owned professional social networking site, Linkedin. Pichai's first tweet was about the tech giant's annual developer conference, which is set to begin later tonight.

Though it's customary for IT CEOs to be active in social media, they often prefer to offer their opinions or make announcements on sites like X (previously Twitter). But it was unexpected to see Google CEO Sundar Pichai publish his first-ever article on LinkedIn.

On the eve of Google's largest event of 2024, Pichai turned to the professional social networking site owned by Microsoft. Pichai's first post was on yesterday night's annual developer conference of the tech giant.

He shared something on LinkedIn. As we put the closing touches on our keynote speech for Google I/O tomorrow, I thought I'd give a behind-the-scenes look at the Shoreline Amphitheatre stage for my very first LinkedIn post. "Excited to see developers from all over the world occupying those seats as they create the upcoming AI experiences," he said in the post that had an amphitheater photograph attached.

With a handful of his Google coworkers tagged, Pichai gave an overview of what to anticipate from the firm during I/O 2024. We'll discuss innovation in safety, research, infrastructure, and how our Gemini models are enabling consumers to use cutting-edge AI capabilities via our products. Tomorrow at 10 a.m. PT, tune in if you can," Pichai said in the article.

Meanwhile, Pichai showcased ground-breaking advances in AI technology at the Google I/O 2024 conference, emphasizing the Gemini AI suite in particular. Along with announcements of impending Gemini Advanced expansions, the event also marked the debut of Gemini 1.5 Pro and Gemini 1.5 Flash. Project Astra garnered attention for its quick reaction times as well, showcasing the influence of Gemini AI on the production of images, audio, and video content.

The introduction of Google's sixth-generation TPU, Trillium, which is anticipated to be on sale later in 2024 and offers significant performance gains, was another significant news. A new AI-powered summary and video search feature was also added to Google Search; this upgrade will first be available in the US. These developments highlight Google's ongoing dedication to fusing AI with regular user interfaces.
