For political appeasement, Congress did not abolish Article 370: Amit Shah in Haryana

Shah reaffirmed that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is part of India and that "we will take it back" while speaking at an election rally here.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticised the Congress on Monday, claiming that the party has not revoked Article 370, which gave Jammu and Kashmir special status, in order to play political appeasement.

Shah reaffirmed that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is part of India and that "we will take it back" while speaking at an election rally here.

Regarding the Ram temple issue, the senior BJP official also took aim at the establishment party, claiming that prominent Congress figures like Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi skipped the temple's consecration event in order to appease their minority voter base.

"They did not revoke Article 370 for appeasement politics," he remarked, taking aim at the Congress over Kashmir. He said that despite an increase in terrorism in the region, the Congress chose not to repeal the article.

"On August 5, 2019, after you all elected Narendra Modi ji to the Prime Ministership a second time, he removed Article 370. And our tricolor now flutters across Kashmir with pride," he stated.

There were also chief ministers Nayab Singh Saini, who is running for the Karnal assembly bypoll, and Manohar Lal Khattar, who is running for the Karnal Lok Sabha seat.
